The #1 Best Time to Workout

I get this question allllll the time.

So, here’s the deal.

To me, the best time to work out is first thing in the morning. What I mean by first thing, is, before life happens.

That means:

  • Before the kids get up for school.
  • Before work.
  • Before errands.
  • Before appointments.
  • Before meetings.

After working one on one as a personal trainer for over 20 years and working with hundreds of thousands of people, I can tell you one thing…

My most consistent clients and the ones that got the best results were the ones that worked out before 8am.

Why? Well because there is no excuse good enough to cancel a workout when nothing is going on…no emails, no texts, no calls from school or work, no errands to do.

It is WAY easier to be consistent when you work out between 5-8am or before “the day begins”.

I, myself worked out at 5am for the last 20 years or so.

Just recently I started working out at 8am after I drop off one of my kids at school.

But that for me is also about consistency.

I have to take my daughter to school every day. The gym is on the way, so I drop her and go.

  • I don’t think about what my schedule for the day is, if I’m busy or not.
  • I don’t think about if I have energy that day.
  • I don’t not go cuz its raining or cold.
  • I don’t think about if I’m tired or slept enough.
  • I don’t think.
  • I drop her off and go.

That’s what you have to do if you haven’t yet found a time or way to make exercise a consistent part of your life.

Plus, if you are one of those people that “don’t have time”, I’ve had many clients, friends and family who say this to me.

And my answer is always the same… MAKE THE TIME.

This is how you make the time.

You wake up earlier than you need to in order to do something that is going to give you result in DIVIDENDS… so worth it.

So, while if I had to pick a time, the answer would be before 8am or before life happens. The reality is that there is NO ONE TIME that is better than another when it comes time to losing fat and toning.

What matters is: What time can you be the most consistent with?

That is YOUR best time to work out.

There are some things to take into consideration like meals, energy, etc.

Some people like to have a few meals before they workout.

Some people don’t like to eat first thing in the morning, which is crucial before a weight workout.

So, there are some considerations that could make an impact. However, they still won’t make as big of an impact as will being consistent.

These are the kinds of tips, strategies and mind-set hacks that I go over inside my program FIT MOM FOR LIFE.

Aside from endless amounts of cardio, weight workouts, meal plans, recipes, healthy cooking tips, fat loss strategies, toning strategies, we go over ways to actually make all these things livable.

I teach you how to integrate all these components into your busy life. So, that its easy, simple and not overwhelming. So that you can be consistent and truly make health and fitness a part of your life.
