With Pregnancy come so many emotions. At the beginning, most women are so happy that they can not prevent the always talked about GLOW.
It really is such a beautiful and miraculous thing to be pregnant and be carrying in your belly a little angel given to you by God. It truly is a blessing to be able to be pregnant. And since I want you to enjoy it to the max, I want to give you some tips on pregnancy nutrition.
In the same token a lot of women also start being very concerned with their weight, how they are going to look and they start wondering, when and how will they get back into pre-pregnancy shape again.
Here is what I have to say about that…
Pregnancy Nutrition Step 1: EAT GIRLFRIEND!
No! I don’t mean pig out, I mean eat clean, eat healthy foods and eat every few hours without skipping a meal.
I am not sure if most pregnant women realize this, but a pregnant woman’s body works harder than a non-pregnant woman rock climbing. YUP! That’s a big deal. That is a lot of calories that your body is expending even though you don’t realize it.
Right now your pregnancy body is working crazy hard in order to build the support system that is going to support the fetus (your baby). I read this in the famous “What To Expect When You’re Expecting”. This stuck with me forever.
I spoke to one of my colleagues today who is prego and she mentioned that she felt sick yesterday because she let too much time go by without eating. Not on purpose, she just felt sick when she was eating and couldn’t eat again until the next morning…………and what happened……….. she felt sick.
And my dear prego ladies, if you don’t eat every few hours, the chances of you feeling sick will definitely increase.
So take the time to plan and prepare some meals and snacks ahead of time to help you stick to an optimal pregnancy nutrition plan. Make sure to have a lean protein, a healthy carbohydrate, and a veggie in each meal. Get plenty of fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds to help you with snacks. If you do this, I promise, you will feel a lot less sick and your baby will be much healthier and happier.
I also read this the other day……………..
HEALTHY BABY, HAPPY FAMILY!
So girlfriend, get to cooking and make sure that you don’t skip any meals. The most important part of a healthy pregnancy nutrition is to make sure you are eating enough.
Eating healthy makes a huge difference.
If you don’t know how you should be eating, I will give you some tips.
I know you are probably a little frustrated like most pregnant women, because your OB hasn’t educated you much on Pregnancy Nutrition.
It’s actually quite frustrating for me…
Aside from giving you a list of foods you should NOT eat, and weighing you in every week, that is pretty much it. And it’s insane because what you eat doesn’t just affect YOU! It affects the baby as well.
Its very easy to say “you have to slow down with your weight gain”, but not give you any tools or resources to help you.
But you have to control what you eat and not use this pregnancy as an excuse to “Eat For 2” (click on this link to read a great post on Eating For 2 During Pregnancy). I mean you don’t by any means have to diet. I certainly didn’t and I did allow myself some splurges. I would eat a bagel a week which I normally don’t when I’m not pregnant, I usually stick to oatmeal which I love. But you just have to make GOOD CHOICES. You should want to anyways because everything you are eating now is affecting your little baby. So make good choices girlfriend.
So here is what I’m going to do for you. I’m going to give you a NUTRITION GUIDE with exactly what to eat, all the RECIPES, good SNACK OPTIONS, etc. So that you can get an idea of how you should be eating during your pregnancy so that you can be healthy, be creating the best possible environment for your baby, and so that you don’t gain EXCESS WEIGHT so that you are not super uncomfortable all during pregnancy and feeling huge and self conscious. And so that you can lose all your baby weight fast postpartum.
I made this 2-Week Nutrition Guide to give away for FREE to all my pregos because I work with so many in my Fit Mom-To-Be Workout Program that always have so many NUTRITION questions. So, I figured I would make this in an easy to read, print and follow way to help you take the guesses out of how to eat optimally during your pregnancy.
If you follow it and you EXERCISE, you will not just have a great pregnancy but you will feel CONFIDENT, RADIENT, GLOWING. You won’t be uncomfortable and have aches and pains because you’ve gained so much weight. You will have an easier labor and delivery. You will sleep better, have more energy. And you will seriously decrease your chances of falling into POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION.
I can’t wait for you to get this Nutrition Guide, the recipes are amazing, and there are so many different options for snacks. You are going to love it.
