How Toxins Affect Your Health & Ability To Lose Weight & Get Fit

I am pretty darn consistent with eating healthy, working out and taking my supplements. However, for the last year I’ve felt so stuck.
I’ve felt like I’m working out more than ever, eating healthier than ever, drinking alcohol way less (even though I still only drank on the weekends) and my body just wouldn’t change.
And for me, at this point, its hard to see results because I’m already in good shape. But what I was doing before wasn’t working.
I felt so frustrated because I felt like I was working and doing better than ever but with no results.
Now, I will say that I’m also in Perimenopause (hello, just turned 44), and I have a thyroid autoimmune, so yes, those can be huge contributors, but I was still frustrated.
So I started doing a lot of research on my autoimmune because doctors don’t believe you can heal yourself, they basically think autoimmune diseases are forever and health just deteriorates.
About a year ago I decided to stop going to my endocrinologist and started to advocate for myself, research, inform myself and make changes.
I am happy to say that I have decreased my thyroid antibodies significantly all by myself through diet, supplementation and lifestyle changes. So ha, I proved those doctors wrong.
As I was educating myself, doing research, etc, I learned how most autoimmune diseases stem from toxins. That is why so many people have autoimmune diseases these days.. from all the toxins in our food, environment, products we use, etc.
Mine started after my pregnancy with Anabelle. Sometimes they are brought about by major hormonal changes.
Anyhow, for the first time in over a year, I feel better, my body feels better, I look better, my clothes fits better… I’m beginning to feel like myself again.

Here are the few things I think have contributed the most to my results.
Prioritizing Sleep:
With all the hormonal changes you experience after the age of 35, cortisol and adrenals being stressed, busyness, etc. I knew that sleep was something I needed to focus on. I gave myself a bed time 10 pm and I stick to it. If I for some reason go to bed after that, I wake up later.
I like to wake up at 5 am to read, pray, etc. But if I don’t get a solid 7 hours of sleep, I will set my alarm for later.

Removing Toxins:
When I found out how much toxins affect our health and body, I started doing a few things to help eliminate them.
I started with things I do a lot of.
Coffee:
I drink 2 cups a day and I have been using the Keurig for years. So I bought a stainless steel refillable cup and I fill it with organic, single origin coffee. No more plastic or aluminum pods running through hot water and releasing toxins into my coffee.

Beauty Products:
Obviously hair, skin, make up products I use often so I switched a lot of product to cleaner less toxic ones.
I have a great app called Yuka, and I can scan all beauty and food products to see if they have toxic ingredients in them.
These are some things I changed, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, some makeup and even a lot of our cleaning products.
Here is an amazon list with all the cleaning, beauty, skin care, makeup, products you put on your body that are non-toxic. My kids use a lot of these products as well.

The 2 main causes of disease are INFLAMMATION & TOXINS so one of the best investments you can make in you and your family’s life is starting to swap little by little products you use often to non-toxic options.
So be sure to save this list or follow me on Amazon so that little by little you can start swapping your current toxic products to non-toxic ones.

The last thing I did was start taking Glutathione.
Glutathione is a substance made up of 3 amino acids. It has been proven to be excellent at removing toxins from the body and protecting the body against toxins.
I bought it in spray form and take it twice daily.
THIS is the glutathione I use.
I am so happy to finally start feeling like myself again.
I blame toxins for the last year of frustration.
And listen, you don’t have to have an autoimmune to want to remove toxins from your body.
You are adding toxins to your body daily with the food you eat, products you use on your body, make up, skin care, hair, cleaning products, water you drink, the air, perfumes, air fresheners, candles, etc.
I am in shock with toxins because I have been eating organic for over 14 years and most of the products I use are pretty clean.
Toxins can create all kinds of health issues for you in the future so EVERYONE, I mean EVERYONE should be trying to remove toxins from their body and life.
The next 2 big things I will be doing is changing my water filter to a reverse osmosis with remineralization and buying air purifiers for our rooms.

OK, my friend, I hope this is helpful.
These are a few things that are easy to integrate into your lifestyle and things I believe you too should be doing.
