The biggest mistake I find people doing is skipping meals.

Too much time goes by without eating.  And I know people’s mentality, trust me, being in this industry for over 15 years and working with hundreds and hundreds of people, I get it!

When people are trying to lose weight, the mentality is eat less.  Try and hold yourself over as much time as possible in order to eat less and less calories.

Well my friend, BIG MISTAKE!

Eating often makes your metabolism work harder and faster, in essence, burning more calories.  Plus do you know what happens when too much time goes by without eating?

What happens is you have low blood sugar.  Guess what your body will ask you for at this time? 


At this point, it is extremely hard to have WILL POWER.  

So the trick is to not allow yourself to get hungry.  If you don’t, you will not only be able to fight cravings, but they will be much less and you will also be speeding metabolism and burning more calories.

How do you do this?


That is why I created my healthy recipes book “Eat To Be Fit”.  To be able to give you tons of options for healthy snacks and meals to be able to have on hand readily.

One of my favorite snacks from there is my Oatmeal Blue Muffins and My Oatmeal Cookies.  I make them every week and have them ready in the fridge when I’m on the run.

Here is a great healthy snack recipe that is delicious and gluten-free, and super easy to make.  I hope you enjoy it and try it.  I have other gluten-free cookie recipes on My Pinterest Boards so make sure to go there and check them out and click “FOLLOW ALL” so that you can have them all organized and ready to use and make.

And remember, if you don’t have time to make a healthy snack, please don’t skip a meal.  I finally found an easy, healthy and quick option for you. I finally found a PROTEIN BAR that is made with 100% healthy ingredients, fresh, they bake them and send them out to you and gluten-free.  Seriously, I can’t believe these exist.  They are DALE BARS and they are so yummy.  I would recommend you buy a box and have them on hand in case you don’t have time to bake.  You have to keep them refrigerated….. thats how fresh they are!  My favorite flavor is Mocha Brownie, and Chocolate Almond Coconut, and the Carrot Cake is pretty darn deelish too. Now, before I give you the recipe, I want to make sure we got some basics covered.  Because if you are trying to LOSE SOME WEIGHT or trying to FEEL BETTER, or get MORE TONED, and you are eating some of “THESE FOODS”, it will be close to impossible no matter what else you are eating or how much EXERCISEyou are doing.

There are some foods that I try to always stay away from because they are super INFLAMMATORY and inflammation is not only the root of most DISEASES, but it also doesn’t allow you to BURN FATeffectively.  So even if you exercise 7 times a week and eat 800 calories a day……  If you eat some of the foods on “THIS LIST”, you may possibly not be able to burn ONE OUNCE of fat.

So before I give you this crazy, to die for, yummy recipe, I want to give you this list of foods so that you can get them out of your diet and be able to see much better results.

I also put together a list of the foods I always have and the foods that are CRUCIAL to include in everyones nutrition in order to not only be healthy but to also be able to lose weight and be able to gain LEAN AND TONED muscle. Coconut-Chip Gluten-Free Cookies

  • 1 cup almond butter
  • 1/4 cup agave nectar or Stevia to taste
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp each of baking soda and powder
  • 1/3 cup shredded coconut
  • 3 tbsp gluten-free and dairy-free chocolate chips (I use DREAM)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I use PROGRADE)
  • 2 tbsp freeze dried fruit like raspberries, blueberries or strawberries (OPTIONAL)


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together all the ingredients except coconut and chips and fruit.
  3. Mix well and then fold in the chips, coconut and fruit if using.
  4. Scoop onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet and bake for ~ 12-14 minutes or until done and golden brown on top.


If you want to add more protein to this add vanilla protein powder (1 scoop) I use PROGRADE.  Its awesome.  You may need to add a little more liquid to it after so if you do, add a little unsweetened applesauce until you get the desired consistency.

These are coconuty, nutty and chocolaty all at once….. If those words even exist.  They are so good its hard to believe they are healthy, but they are.

You can eat them without guilt!  So get to cookin’ my friend.  And remember, half the battle is in the kitchen and being prepared.  Now don’t go skipping any meals.
