Can I Lose Weight During Pregnancy?

This is the million dollar question I get asked almost on a daily basis.

And trust me, I am NOT judging.

  • I know that it’s hard to see our body change while pregnant.
  • I know that a lot of us worked really hard to lose some weight and finally get in shape and feel good and pregnancy… while the biggest blessing also scares us a bit. It’s scary because it took a long and time and hard work to get there.
  • I also know some ladies are still on that journey, were struggling or fighting or working to lose some weight and get in shape and then pregnancy makes that journey feel so much harder.

I’m not sure where you are right now, but I know that its hard and I get it.

I hate when people judge women and say things like…

“You shouldn’t care about how you look”

“You should just be happy with a healthy baby”

“You are selfish for caring about your looks when the baby is important”

I hate that so so soooo much.

How judgey!

Well, duh… of course we care about having a healthy baby.

And of course we would never sacrifice the baby’s health.

I just don’t get why we can’t want the best for the baby and also be a little vain. lol

I’m here to say…. IT IS A OK.

You can want a healthy baby and also care about how you look.


If you have been wondering if its possible to lose a little weight now while pregnant because maybe you didn’t pay much attention to your health and fitness at the beginning of pregnancy and are now wishing you did…. I want to tell you what is actually safe and possible.

So, I made a YouTube video where I tell you if its possible to lose weight safely while pregnant and what you can do now to control weight gain and get to the point where you feel good about yourself, while keeping the baby healthy and also help your process of recovery after baby is here.

Before you watch it, I want to make sure that you are not obsessing over the scale.

I hope that you are not constantly weighing yourself.

You should only weigh in at your monthly doctors appointments so if you have a scale at home…. throw it away or HIDE IT!

Another thing I want to mention is that you need to give yourself GRACE.

Its ok if you didn’t workout all this time.

Its ok if you haven’t been eating healthy.

Its ok if you have been feeling sick and that hasn’t allowed you to workout or eat right.

Pregnancy is hard.

And everyone’s experience is different.

I don’t care about what happened up to now.

What I care about is that if you now are not feeling good, don’t have energy, not happy with the way your prego body looks…..

That you know that there is something you can do.

There are lots of things you can do to feel better and look better and have more energy and all the things.


I have had ladies even the last month of pregnancy start being proactive…. and IT MADE A DIFFERENCE.

So, forgive yourself.

Don’t dwell on it and move forward.

And listen…. everything in life takes work.

Nothing in life comes easy.

If you want a healthy and fit pregnancy… you have to put in a little work.

If you want to be able to recover quickly and get your body back.

It will require a little effort.

Watching this video and informing yourself so you can make better choices is an investment in your time, BUT TAKE IT.

I promise, it will be worth it.

I learn so much by watching…. well, listening to videos, podcasts, audio books.

You can listen while in the car, while doing your hair and makeup for work, while cooking, while exercising.

Those are all the ways I do it.

I know the benefits of being proactive towards a healthy and fit pregnancy.

And I know how much it has hurt some ladies who don’t take care of themselves.

99% of the time, they regret it. So I’m not gonna give up on you and I will keep encouraging you to be proactive.

Whatever it is you want to achieve.. it’s possible and you DON’T have to wait until after pregnancy. Everything you do NOW, will make a huge impact.
