A question I get asked all the time is “Can I tone my arms while pregnant”?
And the answer is YES!
What is crazy to me, is that a lot of women wait until they are pregnant to be in shape. I just don’t get it. They never cared about their health and fitness but now all of a sudden they are pregnant and want to start exercising and eating healthy.
Even though I don’t get it, I’m still happy that they are on the journey to being healthier and more fit. I guess a baby is motivation to want to be in the best shape possible. That’s what I though during both of my pregnancies. I said to myself “I want to create the best possible environment for this baby to grow and flourish in”. So I exercised and did My Fit Mom-To-Be Workouts and ate super healthy.
The outcome…….. I had 2 amazing pregnancies, only gained 20 lbs each pregnancy, had a 4 hour labor the first time, 2 hours the second time and was in pre-pregnancy weight within weeks of my delivery, and I have 2 beautiful and healthy babies. I totally credit my Fit Mom-To-Be Workouts. I did them from the beginning of my pregnancy until literally the day before going into labor (both times). I felt great!

Anyhow, weight training is the best type of exercise you can do during pregnancy. It will keep you strong, toned and prevent excess weight gain. That’s why it is what I do in my Fit Mom-To-Be Workouts. And there are so many pregnancy exercises you can do to tone the arms.
And why wouldn’t you be able to tone the arms just because you are pregnant? I mean, its resistance training, and engaging in it makes you gain lean and toned muscle. And I can tell you it definitely does work because during my second pregnancy I was put on mild bed rest for 4 months because of Placenta Previa. During this time, I lost a ton of muslce, and just felt yuk! Thanks to God, it was resolved and by the third trimester I was able to exercise again. OMG, after just a few weeks, I felt a tremendous change. Actually, you could SEE a tremendous change. My arms were more tight and toned. It was crazy. So there you go, it really can happen.
