You are probably over the top full of joy at finally being able to see and hold your little angel.
It’s just the greatest miracle of life and such a special and emotional time.
It’s also a very hard and frustrating time for many reasons.
- You are very hormonal.
- You are not sleeping well or enough.
- You are trying to figure out a new routine.
- You’re body still feels so far from what it used to be pre-pregnancy and it’s very discouraging.
- You feel self conscious about your body.
- You just want to feel like yourself again.
- You may be suffering from a little postpartum depression.
- You want to be out and about but your baby hasn’t had the routine shots and you have cabin fever, going crazy in those 4 walls.
I remember those feelings after both babies.
Luckily, I exercised throughout both my pregnancies with my Fit Mom-To-Be Workouts and gained about 20 lbs so I was able to lose them pretty quickly but I remember those first few days seeing my belly….. Ugh……
I remember thinking…..
Will it ever go back to normal.
My skin felt so flimsy and weird…..
Especially the second time.
Here is what I want you to know.
- You will lose your baby weight.
- You will lose the pooch.
- You totally and 100% can tighten and tone and flatten your belly.
- You can tone your body and get in even better shape than before you started having babies.
I’m not just telling you this.
I’m telling you this because I did it twice and I have worked with literally THOUSANDS of women who have done so also.
I’m going to give you some great tips that will help you tighten and tone your belly and help you lose fat.
But I need to tell you one more thing first.
Be easy on yourself!
Give yourself a break, love on yourself a little.
What your body went through for the last 40 weeks or so is like nothing anyone can even begin to imagine.
So many things changed, hormonally, physically, emotionally.
It’s going to take a while for your body to really go back to a normal state.
And if you’re nursing which I did both kids for over a year, it will take even longer.
But the good news is you can be in the most amazing shape in just 12 weeks…
Yes, you read that right…… 3 short months.
I did it!
And I have hundreds of women who have done my Better Body After Pregnancy Program who have done so also.
So there is your hope.
Just please be patient with yourself.
And don’t be so hard on yourself.
As long as you have a good plan and you know how you should be eating, what lotions and supplements can be helping you and what types of workouts you can be doing after each milestone, you will be good.
You just need to be CONSISTENT with that plan.
And that is exactly everything I go over in detail in my Better Body After Pregnancy Program.
Tips To Tighten Loose Skin After Pregnancy
1. Drink Water Like Crazy
Drinking enough water will ensure you have elasticity in your skin.
It will help your skin be tight.
If you are nursing, you will have to drink even more water.
Water Intake: drink half your body weight in pounds in ounces of water.
Example: You weigh 200 lbs, you drink 100 oz of water.
If you are exercising and/or nursing, drink even more.
2. Eat More Protein & Drink This
Protein helps increase collagen in your body which will help tighten your skin.
Make sure to have a serving of lean protein with every single meal and snack.
I know it can be confusing to know what foods are proteins and fats and carbs and people get mixed up all the time, so here is a pdf you can print and look at that has all the different foods classified that way you can see what all the different healthy proteins you can have.
Did you know that exfoliating your skin makes it more elastic?
Yep, it does, so get a good natural scrub and exfoliate your belly.
It also helps to increase blood circulation to the area which helps it tighten up.
I also talk about this in depth in my Better Body After Pregnancy Program as to what scrubs to use, how and when.
4. Lather UP!
It’s incredibly important for you to moisturize your skin.
This will help you so much in tightening the skin.
Use lotions that have collage and Vitamin E, C, A and K.
5. Do These Workouts
Resistance based workouts are the best kind of workouts you can do postpartum.
They will help you lose body fat while also building lean and toned muscle.
The muscle will help give the appearance of healthier, more tight and toned skin.
This may be the ONE most beneficial thing you can do to recover your postpartum body.
This is where you will get the biggest bang for your buck.
It’s important to change up your workouts every 4 weeks so you don’t plateau.
This is what I do in my Better Body After Pregnancy Program to ensure good, lean and toned muscle growth in the least amount of time possible.
6. Don’t Diet, But Do This!
If you lose a lot of weight too quickly by doing extreme diets and detoxes, your skin will look even more stretched and un healthy.
Instead, speed your metabolism and lose weight the healthy way and more gradually by eating a small healthy meal every 3-4 hours.
In each meal you should eat:
- Lean Protein
- Healthy Carb
- Healthy Fat in 2 meals

If you do all of these things, it will help you so much in tightening your skin and getting your body back to normal.
It will feel so good to feel like yourself again.

Remember, consistency is key!
And don’t be so hard on yourself.
Remember everything you and your body has gone through.
And focus on that precious little bundle of joy!
You will get there!
