Healthy Recipes For Breakfast & Snacks

I find that most people have a hard time with breakfast and it really is the most important meal of the day.  

After “fasting” for so many hours since dinner, if you don’t eat a good meal, you can be in a catabolic state where you will be burning muscle.  This will make you gain body fat.

It’s important to have a good breakfast to jump start your metabolism so that you can be burning calories all day long.  This is why I give so many breakfast options in my BeFit Moms Meal Plan.  So that there is no way you can skip it, because it can really be detrimental to your results to skip this meal.

Those people who say they don’t wake up hungry have a major problem……… they have a SLOW METABOLISM.  Which simply means, you are not good at burning calories.  

How can you fix this?

Easy, start having breakfast.  When you start waking up hungry, you will know that your metabolism is running hard.  You have now become good at burning calories.  Being hungry every few hours means you are a calorie burning machine!

I know that eating every few hours can be hard, that is why I came up with my BeFit Moms Meal Plan.  I know how frustrating it can be to not know what to eat so then you end up just eating “whatever”.  I know how frustrating it is to be tired of eating the same thing all the time.  That is usually why people start eating “BAD” and making poor choices.  

This is why in my BeFit Moms Fat Loss Meal Plan, I came up with tons of different meals and recipes that aren’t just optimal for losing weight but they also taste amazing.  This way you don’t feel like you are “dieting” and you can continue to stay on track and follow the meal plan without feeling like you need to SPLURGE on anything.  I also decided to put tons of different options for all the snacks and breakfast meals so that you don’t have to eat the same thing everyday.  

When people eat the same thing everyday, they feel like they are “DIETING”.  And this is the exact reason why people fall off the wagon.  Eating the same thing all the time never works.  That is why I love my BeFit Moms Meal Plan.  I actually follow it myself on a daily basis and so do my kids and husband.  I love that I NEVER EVER feel like I’m on a diet, but I still get great results.

By the way, before I give you the recipe, I just want to give you some tips that will help you if you are trying to lose weight, get leaner, get more definition, feel more energy, get healthier, and more toned.

Because it’s not just about cooking even though it’s a big part of it.

I have found that a lot of people are “STUCK” with their weight loss because they are eating some of the wrong foods.

How do you fix it?

Be CONSISTENT with your PLAN and be SYSTEMIC & STRATEGIC about it.   If you do, you will be finally able to say “It’s a LIFESTYLE”.  Because when it really is a “lifestyle”, your body and life reflect it.

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup oatmeal (gluten-free)
  2. 3 egg whites
  3. 1/4 cup low fat cottage cheese
  4. cinnamon and Stevia/Agave to taste
  5. 1/4 banana
Instructions
  1. Then fold in your favorite freeze dried or fresh fruit and nuts (optional).
  2. You may also smear a little almond butter on top.
  3. Cook on stove like a normal pancake.

Ingredients
  1. 10 egg whites
  2. 1 cup unsweetened apple sauce
  3. 1 cup oatmeal
  4. 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I use Prograde)
  5. cinnamon to taste
  6. Agave Nectar or Stevia to taste optional
Instructions
  1. In a bowl, mix the ingredients below. Place in a muffin pan and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until done.
  2. Fold in to the mixture fresh berries or freeze dried berries and your favorite nuts.
