I hate feeling like I’m on a DIET.
That is why I invest so much time into COOKING.
I figure that if I can eat something different everyday and enjoy it, the chances of me eating clean consistently are way higher. Actually I don’t figure…… Its 100%. And I find it to be the same for my clients.
Eat the same thing day in and day out and in a short amount of time, you will feel like you want to devour everything in front of you.
So not worth it.
Just invest a little time into planning your meals and cooking, and your results will be much better.
That’s why I wrote my Eat To Be Fit Healthy Recipe Book, I spent about a year creating recipes that were tasty, healthy and enjoyable. I was so excited to be able to share it with all those people that think that to lose weight and get fit you have to eat chicken, brown rice and broccoli everyday.
When I make my WEEKLY MEAL PLAN (which I do every single week), I make sure to put in a chicken, a turkey, a fish and then I will repeat one or 2 of them. But always a variety of proteins per week.
Ground turkey I find to be one of my favorites because its so versatile and you can enjoy it so many totally different ways. In meatloaves (OMG, I have the best turkey meatloaf recipe in the whole world in my book), meatballs, sloppy joe’s, chili’s, etc.
This recipe for Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps is to die for and I literally whipped it up in about 15 minutes.
I served it to the boys with brown rice but I had them on Boston Lettuce Leaves as wraps and they were insanely good.
I hope you add these to your meal plan next week. By the way, you better be making a meal plan every week. It makes your life so much easier, it helps you eat much cleaner and healthier and it actually saves you money also.

Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps
- 2 lbs lean ground turkey
- 1/2 red onion, chopped
- 1/2 red pepper, chopped
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce (I use a gluten-free version that is super low in sugar and sodium).
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 cup thawed and shelled edamame
- 3 scallions, chopped
- Boston lettuce leaves
- Add a little low sodium stock to a skillet at medium heat.
- Add the onions and pepper and sauté until softened.
- Then add the turkey and cook until almost done.
- Add the hoisin, vinegar, garlic powder and ginger.
- Cook for a few minutes.
- Then fold in the edamame and scallions.
- Serve on top of Boston lettuce leaves and enjoy.
Seriously, how easy does this sound. Really, it took me minutes to make and its so yummy.
We loved to have it for left overs the next day. I had it with a little brown rice for lunch….. YUM!
